Some pictures to inspire you

The four elements of nature surround Another Place, fiery light from the sunset bursts forth from the horizon, water reflects that light and the wind torn clouds that race overhead; that same wind is harnessed by man's spinning blades whilst, on the distant horizon, the earth reaches skyward with the ancient rocks of Wales.

November storms have passed, the sky has cleared, only the wind remains; whipping the surface off the foaming waves, a mist that blurs the outline of an iron man standing firm against the incoming tide.

The universe creates a magical backdrop to Another Place; as the earth spins into its own shadow the mountains appear to rise up out of the horizon and, at night, the last thing to darken is the sea, it holds the light that has slipped from the sky and glows with its own unique palette of colour.

Welcome to the Iron Men of Crosby Beach

This blog has been set up to keep you informed about the iron men of Crosby Beach. The art installation by Antony Gormley is called "Another Place" and the cast iron replica figures of the artist were set up in 2005 over three kilometres of beach stretching between Waterloo and Crosby on the Sefton coast just north of Liverpool.
